The problem with virtual challenges for beginners
We love virtual challenge races – they can be a great motivational aid for regular fitness addicts to compliment their training schedules and who doesn't love bling. What if you like the idea of physically challenging yourself and raising money for a good cause, but you're a beginner and you don't know where to start with the training?
What is a virtual challenge event?
A virtual challenge is simply an event that can be completed at any location on a given day – you can run outside or on a treadmill, individually or with friends, you can even walk providing you complete the distance.
There are now numerous companies and not-for-profit organisations offering virtual running experiences and, while the details vary, the concept is the same: pay money, run the distance whenever and wherever you feel like it, and get the medal in the post.
These are great, but, the less active of us often lack confidence in our own physical ability and are therefore unlikely to take part in an organised physical event or the 'typical' virtual challenge where training isn't included, or if it is it's a simple fitness PDF rather than proper integrated training programmes.
Get Event Fit have partnered with Virtuathon® to deliver daily structure to challenge event training which is designed specifically to maximise participation, especially for beginners.
