School Virtuathon inspires parents, their families and friends to live a healthier lifestyle
Get Event Fit will be delivering integrated training to parents for School Virtuathon's taking place throughout the country.
School Virtuathon® is a new, exciting and fully managed initiative that is provided FREE to schools to inspire more physically active and healthier communities and raise vital funds for their schools.
A School Virtuathon is a 5K or 10K virtual event and because it's 'virtual' it can be completed at any location – in the local park or on a treadmill, individually or with friends – participants can run, jog or even walk at their own pace, so it’s ideal for beginners.
It’s designed to support participants of all physical abilities with an eight-week, integrated training programme delivered daily via the Get Event Fit app and they’re rewarded with a Virtuathon medal for their achievement.
A school sets the date of their School Virtuathon and invite their community of staff, parents, families and friends to participate.
Easy-to-follow training with daily guidance
Participants are guided and supported throughout their eight-week training journey via the Get Event Fit app, with easy-to-follow exercise workouts with videos, yoga for runners, nutrition education, healthy eating recipes, positive mindset advice, meditation, wellbeing advice and much more, to inspire and motivate throughout the eight-week training journey and encourage positive, healthy habits long after they've received their School Virtuathon medal.
Staff wellbeing for teachers
School staff additionally receive wellbeing education based upon the Government's suggested Five Ways to Mental Wellbeing; Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Give. They’re taken along a guided journey to help them understand the impact of diet, stress, mindset and physical activity on their health to encourage positive lifestyle choices, both in and out of school.
A School Virtuathon has many benefits, just one of them is the incredible fundraising opportunities for all participants; parents, staff and the local community, to raise vital funds for your school or chosen charity. Contributions soon add up to a significant sum, for example, an average of £30 raised by 50 participants would raise £1,500 for your school fund!
An achievement reward medal
The date of a School Virtuathon is decided by each school, so it can coincide with the school sports day or summer fair where School Virtuathon participants can be presented with their Virtuathon medal – a fabulous local PR story to promote the school!
Would your child's school be interested in raising vital funds with no financial risk and little impact on their time and resources? If so please talk to your child’s teacher, school office, headteacher, school governor or the PTA and suggest they explore SchoolVirtuathon.com
